As you know, Venice intel hasn’t been the best in 2022. The trades have barely confirmed any titles. Barbera seems to have controlled the drips that would have usually occurred in the past. All I know is that “Don’t Worry Darling”, “Bardo”, “The Whale”, “Bones and All,” and “Other People’s Children” will be going to Venice. That’s about it. THR have decided to take a crack at predicting this year’s Venice enigma and they list the usual suspects, but what’s the deal with Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise” being included? I’ve been told it won’t be ready until October. Also, notice how Sarah Polley’s “Women Talking” isn’t included on their list of 12 … There’s an ongoing friendly “feud” between Telluride/Venice/Toronto to nab the World Premiere of Polley’s movie. I did learn today that Lisandro Alonso’s “Eureka” won’t be going to Venice. Lars Von Trier’s “The Kingdom Exodus” is also said to be an out-of-competition screening.
