I was told Telluride head honcho Julie Huntsinger absolutely loved Paolo Sorrentino’s “The Hand Of God,” so much so that it was one of the first films she chose for the festival’s 2021 lineup. The film is also vying for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival this September, and it could very well win it due to the home advantage. This is an autobiographical film for Sorrentino as the filmmaker looks back on his youth in a personal tale about an Italian teen coming of age in the mid-1980s. “The Hand Of God” stars Sorrentino regular Tony Servillo, along with Filippo Scotti, Teresa Saponangelo, Marlon Joubert, Luisa Ranieri, Renato Carpentieri.  Massimiliano Gallo, Betti Pedrazzi, Biagio Manna, and Ciro Capano. “The Hand Of God” hits select theaters in the US on December 3 before streaming exclusively on Netflix on December 15.
